A little behind on blog posts so I thought I would preview the weddings in the queue by their stunning florals. So many options for brides these days – type of flower, colours, combinations and arrangement. Every wedding is different and I love it! Enjoy.

Another outing with Lucy – we went to Verve Lounge in Maroochydore. This outing was to test my Carl Zeiss 45mm lens for the Contax – again just one roll of 120 (16 exposures) – good colour and contrast though the Bokeh is not quite as pretty as the 80mm. The beauty of MF with the 45mm, which is essentially a wide angle (similar to 28mm on 35mm format), is minimal distortion. Chocolate Milk for Lucy, coffee for me and we shared a Raspberry and White chocolate Muffin. Food times.

My journey to incorporate film back into my work has been one of the most satisfying and exciting ventures. I absolutely adore the unique look of film as much as I adore the process of shooting it, though digital offers advantages over film in certain situations – hence my film-digital workflow. One of the best to incorporate both in her weddings is Jen Huang and when she announced her first Australian workshop I jumped at the chance. 3 amazing days in one of the most stunning locations listening and watching Jen cover so many relative topics was incredible and sharing with some other cool photographers was an added bonus. On the last day we had a styled wedding shoot which was coordinated by the lovely Miss Polka and featured on her very popular wedding blog here (with all the lovely contributors details) and this is Jen’s coverage on her blog here. These are some of my favourite images – Sian and Ross were fabulous models and I wish them all the best for their wedding later this year.

Here is the little dynamo Jen – such a joyous soul – she is so driven & talented but carefree as well. I think she loved our whacky Aussie humour at times.

Have just returned from 2 fabulous weeks in Western Australia – so grateful for the opportunity to swim with the Whale Sharks in Exmouth then cruise the fabulous Margaret River Region. There will be photos to come of course but earlier this year in February I spent 4 amazing days at Bunkers Bay attending the Jen Huang Workshop. Here are a couple of images of where I stayed and where the workshop was held – stunning is a massive understatement. Will post some of my workshop images tomorrow but here is to Bunkers Bay, crystal clear water, blue skies and sunshine.

Seriously how cool are these guys! This is gorgeous Beccie and how she dresses daily – who she is. She recently competed as a finalist in the Miss Classic Pinup category of Miss Pinup Australia. Stephen was in  the middle of raising money for Movember – so we definitely had some fun with that. This session was all shot on film hence the gorgeous colours. And I was lucky enough to just shoot their wedding this past week so look out for that – stunning is an understatement. Oh the lovely Miss Polka Dot is also running their engagement session today on Australia’s favourite wedding blog Polka Dot Bride. The last couple of images were from the wedding – their favourite from the session beside the cake and clever Beccie put together a small book as their wedding invitation. Enjoy.

Danica was an amazing baby, captivating child and now a stunning vibrant young adult. Love her more than words – these Holga images compliment her artistic free spirit.

Marina is that someone special. We both attended the Art and the Heart Workshop in Melbourne earlier this year. Lucky enough to share a room with this  lovely lady. Without disclosing personal details Marina has gone through more sadness, loss, challenges and heartbreak at such a young age than many would face their entire life. You hear those stories of people who for some reason seem to have an extremely bad run – one thing after another. Though it became apparent it was part of a bigger picture for Marina – she is here for a reason, she does and will do more amazing things to enlighten, guide and support others. Her philosophy to enjoy the here and now and say exactly what you think ensures she gets the most out of life. We had so much fun over the 3 days – tears of joy and also a few of shared emotion. Another day out with Lucy (my youngest) and Danica (my eldest) – we went to the Poets Cafe before a stroll around Montville. Lucy was fascinated with the old mill water-wheel while Neeka loves poking around in the shops.

Another gorgeous couple who chose to celebrate in Noosa. We had the perfect day – lots of pretty light, great locations and so much fun. Check out Kris’s pride and joy with the unique cold box built into the tray. Trish from Ulitmate Makeup Artistry did a fabulous job with the girls while the Boathouse Floating Restaurant was amazing with the late afternoon light. Thanks again it was perfect.

Danica and I visited the Queensland Art Gallery to take in the magic of Henri Cariter-Bresson (late last year). We had a great day and she is the best company – I am going to miss her when she starts Uni soon. Just a couple of shots to finish off a roll.
